We are super excited to announce that Skye Medicine (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. closed a seed financing round of over RMB 120 million at the beginning of this year, co-led by Hony Capital and Med Fine Capital, with participation from Suzhou Venture Capital, CS Capital, Yingxian Investment, and Addor Capital.
🔬 What We're Building
Founded in March 2024 and headquartered in the Shanghai Free Trade Zone, Skye Medicine is addressing three critical pain points that continue to limit the real-world impact of existing CAR-T therapies:
• ❌ High manufacturing costs
• ❌ Lengthy process cycles
• ❌ Antigen escape-driven relapse in a subset of patients
Our approach: a multi-platform pipeline combining in vivo, and allogeneic strategies to redefine the efficacy-cost frontier in cell immunotherapy.
💡 Our Pipeline at a Glance
Skye-01 | Fast process, dual-target (CD19/CD20) autologous CAR-T for B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma (B-NHL) Fourth-generation armored CAR-T with self-secreted enhancer, a novel CAR structure for stronger in vivo expansion.
Skye-02 | Universal dual-target CAR-T for autoimmune diseases designed to address autoimmune indications currently unmet by single-target anti-CD19 or anti-BCMA approaches. In vivo pharmacology studies are planned for early 2026, with IIT advancement targeted for 2026.
Skye-03 | LVV-based in vivo dual-target candidate for the treatment of Multiple Myeloma (MM).
Skye-04 | LNP-based in vivo dual-target candidate with FIC potential for the treatment of B-NHL.
👨🔬 Led by a Proven Team
Skye Medicine was founded by Dr. Wen Wang, who brings over 10 years of CAR-T development experience. As a core technical leader at CBMG, JW Therapeutics, and IASO Biotherapeutics, Dr. Wang played a pivotal role in bringing China's first approved Class 1.1 CD19 CAR-T (Relmacabtagene autoleucel, Carteyva®) and first approved BCMA CAR-T (Equecabtagene autoleucel, Fucaso®) from laboratory to regulatory approval — landmark therapies that opened new eras for lymphoma and multiple myeloma treatment in China.
📌 Use of Proceeds
Funds will be deployed across three priority areas:
•In vivo dual-target cell therapy R&D
•Next-generation universal multi-target CAR-T for autoimmune diseases
•Rapid autologous manufacturing CAR-T programs
Our mission: Bring the benefits of innovation to patients, and create sustainable value for investors, employees, and society.
Our vision: To Become the Leader in Cell and Gene Therapy.
We're just getting started. 🚀
